SIXTH STREET VIADUCT

ARTS PLAZA

Los Angeles, California

Located near the vibrant downtown Los Angeles Arts District, this reinvention of a previously underutilized overpass and bridge provides a stunninng outdoor area under a new bridge that not only connects the underserved neighborhoods of East Los Angeles to downtown, but provides multiple areas for play, gathering, and celebration.

Imagined as a community space to serve the local residents, this park includes a community center, athletic fields, playground and fitness equipment, walking and bike paths, a dog park, and a semi-formal performance area. Additionally, to support the anticipated diverse range and size of events, the park has been designed with four zones that are able to be used as performance areas.

TheatreDNA provided theatre planning services, and performance equipment design.
